Show control · AV · Rooms and buildings

One engine for the show, the room and the building.

Tangle drives projectors, media servers, audio, lighting and computers from timelines and automations, with dashboards for operators and simple panels for everyone else.

Runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. Free designer mode, no account needed.

The timeline

Drag it in. Play it live.

Drop a device or a scene onto a track and it becomes a cue at the exact frame. Move, copy and box-select with the mouse, undo anything, then arm Live and press play.

Where it runs

Built for three kinds of work

Shows and attractions

Frame-accurate timelines that chase LTC, MTC or PTP. Cue lists, holds and a big GO for the booth.

Audiovisual systems

Museums, galleries and venues: power up the whole site at opening, run the loop all day, shut down at night.

Rooms and buildings

Boardrooms, classrooms and lobbies. Scenes on a touch panel, schedules and I/O for doors and sensors.

Redundancy

The show keeps running when a machine does not.

Run two or more Tangle cores in lockstep. Every core computes every cue on a shared clock; only the primary drives devices. If it fails, a backup takes over in under a second, already on the right frame.

  • Deterministic cues, checked by fingerprint on every core
  • Majority quorum with three or more nodes
  • Pin USB, serial and LTC devices to the machine they are plugged into
  • A license problem never stops a running show
Devices

41 device modules, and growing

Each device is an installable module. Official modules cover the gear below; anyone can write one in JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.

Dashboards

A booth console for operators. A friendly panel for everyone else.

Drag a device onto a page and pick its controls. Tangle ships two skins: Console, a dark lighting-desk look for booths, and Lobby, soft buttons for room panels used by non-technical staff.

Dashboards run in any browser or on a tablet, and keep working on networks with no internet.

Open by design

Everything in Tangle has an API.

A full REST API for any client, live events over WebSocket, and an MCP server so AI assistants can configure and run projects.

# fire a cue from anywhere
curl -X POST http://booth.local:7340/api/v1/timelines/main/transport \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TANGLE_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"op": "go"}'

# watch the cluster
